On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |
Yamaha R15 V3 Review
18 May, 2021 10:25 AM
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
The Yamaha R15 V3 is one of the most sought-after sports bikes in the Indian markets that has been recently updated with a BS6-compliant engine. The motorcycle has been able to establish itself as one of the most appreciated track-focused sports machines available in the Indian markets. Coming to the aggressive sports motorcycle styling, the BS6 Yamaha R15 V3 has been equipped with track-specific bits. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with sharper body panels which have been complemented by an LED headlight set up at the front. The overall graphic detailing of the updated motorcycle variants has been tweaked a bit though the finely-tuned minimalistic character has been retained to add to its muscular profile. The brand has finally positioned the pillion seat on the motorcycle on a bit lower side catering to the issues faced by customers.
Powering the BS6 Yamaha R15 V3 is a 155cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is now BS6compliant and capable of churning out a maximum power of 18.6HP at 10,000 rpm and an utmost torque of 14.1Nm at 8,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is one of the most powerful 155cc sports motorcycles available in the Indian markets that have been equipped with Variable Valve Actuation that allows the motorcycle to offer high-end performance. The brand has equipped the BS6 Yamaha R15 V3 with a fully-digital instrument unit that offers the necessary riding details. The instrument unit has been shod with a speedometer, tachometer, odometer as well as a fuel gauge. The brand has further equipped the newly revised BS6 compliant motorcycle with a side stand engine and a dual horn in addition to offering a radial tyre at the back.
In terms of dimension, the R15 V3 measures 1,990mm in length, 725mm in width, and 1,135mm in height. The kerb weight of the motorcycle stands at 142 kgs while the fuel tank capacity stands at 11 litres. The motorcycle gets a ground clearance of 170mm while the mileage offered by the 155cc sports machine stands at around 40-45 kmpl. The Yamaha R15 V3 is capable of registering a top speed of 136 kmph (speedo-indicated). Coming to the other mechanical bits imparted to the 155cc sports machine, the suspension duties are handled by 41mm conventional telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been mated to a monoshock absorber. The braking power is offered by a 282mm disc brake at the front with a twin-piston calliper and a 220mm disc brake at the rear with a single-piston calliper. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with a 100/80-17 M/C 52P section tyre at the front and 140/70-17 M/C 66H section tyre at the rear.
For its BS6 compliant engine update, the motorcycle has been equipped with almost similar graphic detailing when compared to its last-gen version. The motorcycle can be availed in the markets in four colour options namely Thunder Grey, Racing Blue, Metallic Red, and Dark Knight (Matte Black). The BS6 Yamaha R15 V3 has been able to establish itself on top of the budget sports motorcycle segment in the Indian markets. The delta-box frame offered to the motorcycle is capable of offering better handling on the corners thus making it one of the most sought-after sports bikes in India. The bike has been equipped with Variable Valve Technology (VVT) which offers an increase in the engine's revolution per minute thus offering better performance while at the same time caters to lower fuel emission as well as better mileage. At present, there are no direct rivals of the BS6 Yamaha R15 in the Indian markets though one can certainly compare it with Suzuki Gixxer SF as well as KTM RC 125.
